Anti-Psalm 24

My life belongs to me, and all of its emptiness,
    my accomplishments and my insufficiency,
because I have built it
I cannot keep it, and it cannot satisfy.

I walk constantly uphill,
    pushing my Sisyphean insufficiency.
Who can overcome it?
    One more gifted than I,
    with deeper drive
    and better opportunity.
He will receive blessing from his superiors,
    the admiration of his peers.
Such is the path of the successful,
    those who reach their potential.

And so my head droops,
    hung in shame,
    for success eludes me.
Who is enough?
    Sufficient in himself,
who hungers not for the admiration of peers?
His head is lifted up,
    blessing flows from his hand,
    making way for the incapable.
Who is this one?
    The Lord of hosts—
    The King of glory!
